What LandWell covers

Pragmatic feelings

Practical, and fully emotional

The work is practical, yet fully emotional, so let us call it Pragmatic Feelings. Most of it concerns the decisions that will determine what your life here actually looks like, and the thinking that has to happen before those decisions are made rather than after.

You are not paying for a consultant's report. You are getting orientation from someone who has stood where you are standing: what matters, what does not, what takes longer than anyone warns you, and where to start on Monday morning.

  • The move itself, while it is still a question rather than a plan
  • Where to live, why the answer that looks obvious on a map is rarely the one that suits the life you want
  • Reading the rhythm of schooling, when the deadlines truly fall, and which parts of the surrounding panic are real
  • Understanding healthcare, what the NHS covers, and the points at which going private is worth it
  • Getting around, driving licences, travel cards, and why they matter more than people expect and how long they quietly take, and the ways the map misleads you about distance and time
  • Staff and home-help: finding them, employing them properly, and the relationship that follows
  • Rebuilding a working life, or making a clear decision not to yet
  • Referrals and connections, directly connecting you to my network, from referrals to social meets to communications
  • The unwritten rules, what is said, what is meant, and what is expected of you

What this is not. LandWell is not immigration, legal, tax or financial advice, and I am not a relocation agent. Where you need a solicitor, an accountant or a specialist adviser, I will say so plainly. My work is the human side of the move, and the thinking that sits underneath the decisions.

How it runs

What working together looks like

We start with a complimentary fifteen minute introductory call, online or by telephone, arranged at short notice and at whatever hour works for you, which matters while you are still in another time zone. Nothing is owed at the end of it. Its only purpose is to let you hear how I work and to let me understand what you are carrying. After that, this runs as a consultancy rather than a standing weekly therapy slot. You engage with me for a piece of work, and we shape the time around what the move demands.

LandWell consults for adults from Age 19 to 99. A little like Lego, putting the pieces together.

Everything discussed is confidential and held within the ethical framework of the BACP. For clients whose work or family circumstances call for particular discretion, I am glad to discuss arrangements before we begin.
